Pictures from the October 1st party

Monday, October 10th, 2005

Now that Jeremy has helped me figure out how to do all this picture stuff, I’ll be drowning my site with them for a while. I’ve been storing all these pictures to share with you and now I can! Woohoo! Jeremy and I are talking about getting a new camera since this one seems to be blurring all the pictures just a teeny bit and has a problem with inside lighting. I used to have no problem, but now all inside pictures are too dark, unless they are kind of close up with the flash. Thank Gimp for picture modifications.

Today, I’m going to show you three of the pictures from the birthday party.

Per Phisch’s request… pictures of the cake!

I’ll start with a picture of the whole cake. Then the second one will be of the bear on a swing and the last is the two bears on a see-saw. It looked much better in reality.

Just to let you know…

I’ve uploaded the pictures and now I’m working with them. Hopefully I’ll have a whole lot for you all to see soon.

Birthday Party went VERY well!

Other than the people living here, we only had my sister, her husband, and my 2 neices come. That’s okay. I got caught up in a lot of things and wasn’t able to invite some of the people I was planning to. Good thing though since I had origanally planned it to be at 1pm, but my brother-in-law found out he had to work until noon that day and they live about 2 and a half hours away. The timing in the afternoon was better for us though. We made everyone of our five children lay down for a nap right after lunch. I got the cleaning finished and the cake baked and decorated during that time. They all woke up exactly when company arrived. It was quite funny. I saw the car pull up and went in to wake up the kids and as I walked in, they were all slowly sitting up and stretching. Once I told them that Aunt Jill and Uncle Rob were here with Tabitha and Naomi, they were wide awake and rushed out the door. LOL

The soybeans were harvested in the field across the road from us, so we did a game of looking for leftover soybeans in the field and seeing who could find the most in 2 minutes. There were quite a few. I think the farmer needs to sharpen his blades or something. The kids had a blast. Tabitha and AnnaBeth went back after the game was done to see if they could find more. We filled up a small bottle with them for Jill to take back with her. She’s going to use them in her home daycare for counting, sorting out from other beans she has, and in the sensory table.

The cake was bears at a playground. It was cute. I had Teddy Grahams, Twizzlers, mini Rolos, and chewy Lifesavers on a chocolate frosting sprinkled with lots of flower shaped sprinkles.

Anyway, it was a really fun time and I was happy to be able to see them again and Naomi let me hold her this time and smiled and cooed at me. She even laughed a few times when I was singing to her.

I know, I keep saying I have pictures, but… blah, blah, blah. Jeremy has got it set up so I can upload my pictures directly from the camara to the computer and it really isn’t supposed to be hard, but I’m still learning. Hopefully soon. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow, so I won’t have time, but I plan on doing it sometime this week.
