Noelle got her first Birthday present

Wednesday, December 7th, 2005

On Monday night, Jeremy’s mom and brother went out for their birthdays and took Noelle with them. It was just a birthday dinner for the birthday people. Noelle got her gift from Grandma and the people at Olive Garden sang to her and gave her a small cake. I was told that she wasn’t quite sure about all those people singing to her, but she LOVES her cake. There is still some leftover and we’re enjoying it. It will be gone by lunchtime today. Anyway, her present from Grandma was her very own baby doll. It’s so cute! She didn’t let go of that baby until she fell asleep that night. I had a really hard time getting her dressed for bed because I had to move her doll from arm to arm so she could still hold her, but I needed each arm to come out of her clothes and later to go into her pajamas.

Yesterday, the kids found her baby. They kept wanting to play with her and Noelle hardly got to play with her own baby. They kept trying to substitute her with another doll. I finally put a stop to it. They each have their own baby from when they were little (usually because I was having another baby, so we gave the “baby” at the time, their own baby to take care of.) I told them that if they want to play with a baby to get their own out. Then I heard, “But mine isn’t that little” and I told them that Grandma had gotten Noelle a smaller baby because Noelle had been a smaller baby. They huffed and puffed, but the house stayed up and everyone was happy with their own baby after a while.

Oh, by the way, her baby has been named “Baby Chocolate” after a doll of Jeremy’s mom who is called “Little Miss Chocolate” who was named after a really good friend of his mom who goes by the name “Miss Chocolate”. Noelle named her own doll. I guess it looks enough like the other doll though smaller that she just automatically called it that. I know that the original “Miss Chocolate” (Gwen, if you want her real name) is quite pleased to have another little baby named after her.

Only 9 days until her actual birthday. I can’t believe my baby will be 2!

If anyone is wondering, yes… I did delete a post. I hate complaining online and I got it out of me then decided it didn’t need to stay after a few days.

Major Surgery on a Friend

Tuesday, December 6th, 2005

A good friend of our family, W, is having surgery today. She found out last month that she had breast cancer… a lot of it. Her husband has been in and out of the hospital the last year. He’s been doing a lot better, but even so this isn’t going to be easy. After the surgery, she’s going to have to travel about an hour and a half every week to go get chemo or radiation treatments.

She’s helped us out so much this last year. If she was able, she would take Grandma Anna to the dr and she’s always very encouraging at church. Her nephew is in our Sunday School class and likes to come to the youth meetings on Wednesday nights even though he’s past that age. He’s really concerned for them.

I told W and her husband to give us a call if they needed anything and we’d see what we could do to help.

A Mantle of White

Another nice soft covering of snow on the ground this morning. *Sigh* It’s so beautiful.

Smile!

Monday, December 5th, 2005

I caught the younger three with some cute smiles. I think I have a picture of each of the older two as well, but Jeremy hasn’t fixed the computer to let me upload pictures. It started telling me that I’m not allowed to upload from our camera last Thursday, though I’d uploaded the day before. Computers really annoy me somedays.

Anyway, here are the three girls. Sorry about the darkness, like I’ve said before, my camera is having some trouble with lighting.

Shopping!

Saturday, December 3rd, 2005

The three older kids went shopping today at our church. Our church has a free shopping spree for the children/grandchildren of members of the church every year. People donate lots of things for the kids to get, boxes for them to be packed in, and wrapping, tape, and tags for the decorating. Last year, they let me take AnnaBeth around and help her pick out things. This year, they put an age limit of pre-K to 6th grade because they had run out of items last year before all the kids got to “shop.” The kids all had to make a list of people they were getting things for and go around with an adult to help them find items for those people. I helped kids make lists while my kids were finding things. (I have writer’s cramp now.) I only know what one present is because I helped Christine pick it out.

Let it Snow!

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

The first good snow of the season was on the ground when we woke up. After chores this morning, I let the kids go out and play for a little while before starting school. It melted a teeny bit, but most is still around. Christine took her babydoll out to play and forgot to bring her in until now. The poor baby’s bottom is covered in ice. She’s defrosting in the tub so she doesn’t get water anywhere else.

Wow, three posts in a day. I think that’s a record for me.

Title change

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

I changed the name of my blog from Pixieweb to Pixiemom. Jeremy is the one who picked Pixieweb on a spur of the moment and I’ve never really been comfortable with it.

A few more pictures of the autumn color. I have three more for tomorrow as well. Then, maybe I’ll have some recent pictures of my kids.
