Today is a gorgeous day. Nice and sunny. Around 75*. AnnaBeth and Noelle wanted to blow bubbles as soon as breakfast was done. I had to make them wait until the dishes were done (no dishwasher, except my hands… that is until I teach Amie and James.) I went out there and they were only interested in the bubbles for about 5 minutes and then they started playing with other things. Christine came out after her chore was done and then not long afterwards, James came out. He had done his chore and his math, so he was ready for his break. I started picking up sticks and trash that had blown into our yard and thinking about how I want to change the yard. They had it nicely landscaped, which will be pretty when it is all blooming, BUT it isn’t really children-friendly, so I’m trying to figure out what I want done. Most of what we’ll do will have to be done in the fall when I can transplant all the bulbs. I’m afraid that my favorite flowers out there are not really transplantable, so I’m trying to figure out whether I want to keep them or not. I’m going to take a picture once the big trash pile is no longer in our driveway.
Anyway, back to today. Amie came out to play after two pages of math were done. For lunch, we walked up to Jeremy’s work and then went on up to McD’s. Guess what? When you don’t get kids’ meals, it costs a whole lot less. Jeremy had to leave before we were all completely done because his lunch time was over. We had an Amish mom and her three kids eating at the table next to me. I enjoyed talking with her. She enjoyed talking to me about our homeschooling material, which I think I mentioned before is mostly Rod and Staff, which is a Mennonite publishing company. After McD’s, we went over to the General Dollar store and got a big thing of bubbles (since we were almost out) and sun visors for the kids. I also got water bottles for AnnaBeth and Noelle because they didn’t have one yet. By the time we got home, Noelle was ready for her nap, so she’s asleep now. AnnaBeth is going down for her nap. Christine and James are playing outside. I’m going to call James in when I’m done posting to have him do his reading and phonics for me, but mostly I’m letting them enjoy this first really beautiful day. Amie will be going out in a moment when some more of her school work is done. She’s happy that it’s such a nice day because she can walk to ballet by herself again this week.
