Amie’s Test

Wednesday, June 7th, 2006

Well, I took Amie to get her ultrasound today.  We won’t find out anything for a few days.

Cat Pictures!

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

I uploaded the cat pictures tonight.  It starts with the first picture in the set.  If you click on the next picture (over to the right) than it will go to that one.  This way, you can read my captions.  I put descriptions of the kittens with their photos.  If you live nearby and want one of these adorable furballs, just give me an e-mail at my gmail account for pixiemom.

Oh and I added some to my kids set, three non-cat ones (Silly Noelle with short hair, James with a missing tooth, and a sleeping Amie) as well as some with the kittens which are in the previously mentioned set.

Baseball!

Tuesday, June 6th, 2006

James is playing baseball this month. I don’t know if I’ve said this before, but the sports flyers (even those not through the school system) are sent to the children and their parents through the school system. They are given a flyer telling when the different sports things are taking place and when sign-ups are. One of the coaches of one of the 5-8 yr old baseball teams goes to our church. He is also Jeremy’s mom’s chiropractor. When she went in yesterday, baseball got mentioned and he told her about his team. She told him that James wanted to play. The games are this month and he missed the practices, but that doesn’t matter. These younger ages are for teaching the kids how to play anyway. I ran all over yesterday signing him up and getting him his gray baseball pants, a hat, and a green shirt to wear until his team shirt comes in. He had a double header yesterday, each is an hour long game. On the first game, he was frustrated at the end because he had some trouble doing everything. There was an hour between the two games and his coach worked with him. He did better on his second game and was in high spirits when we got home. Also, on his second game, someone was trying to tag him at home plate. He did a perfect slide into home. It was cute. I have got to remember the camera for the next game.

Critter Corner

Saturday, June 3rd, 2006

We’re about ready to name this house that.  First, about 2 weeks ago or so, a half grown bird fell down through the vents from our attic and got stuck just above the heater.  We opened up a spot and it flew out into our laundry room where we captured it in a towel and put it outside.  Next it was the cat and her five kittens which I’ve already written about.  Last night, a bat got into the master bathroom and then into our bedroom.  It isn’t fun turning on the light and finding a bat flying around your room.  It’s gone, but we’ve got to figure out where it came in from.

Not Well

Friday, June 2nd, 2006

I started coming down with something yesterday.  I’m feeling mostly just tired today, but have a bit of headache and sore throat.  I think Noelle has whatever it is too.  She woke up and tried to get out of bed to come down to our room last night.  She wasn’t very awake yet though and got herself caught inbetween the door and her bed and couldn’t figure out how to get out.  I got up there, got her out and comforted, and she went back to sleep in her own bed.  She’s really fussy today and has a very slight fever.  It’s a movie day here at our house.  (That’s what happens when I’m not feeling well.)

Praying

Thursday, June 1st, 2006

When we ask who wants to pray for dinner, we get a few volunteers and we let them each take a turn.  Noelle has started saying them as well.  She and AnnaBeth have short ones.  “Thank you God for food.  Amen.”  Christine is into the long ones and always has been.  She thanks God for food, flowers, trees, butterflies, and everything else she can think of.  We usually have to remind her to finish before the food gets cold.  James and Amie have gotten into a regular little prayer.  They usually don’t go long.  It’s usually just asking for blessing for food and thanking God for the fun day they’ve had.  When we are done praying, James ALWAYS says, “And all God’s people said…” and we all say (the kids actually yell) “AMEN!!”  Then we dig in.

It’s just interesting listening to the different stages of learning to pray in my house.
