Amie’s Summer

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2006

I uploaded a bunch of photos from Amie’s summer. I’m not done as there are many and I have some kids to teach. There are also a few new ones I uploaded which I did not put in a set. I plan on having the rest of Amie’s summer and some from our vacation up in the next few days.

EDIT:  I got the rest of the photos up in that set.  I’m missing a roll from our vacation.  It got lost in my clothes in my suitcase and I just found it while doing laundry (thankfully before it went into the washer,) so I still need to get it developed.  I have the others though, so will work on them soon.

New Penpal for Amie

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Amie has a new penpal this year in addition to the one she’s been e-mailing.  This one is Emily.  She seems like a very sweet girl.  You can read about her on her mom’s blog.  Also, I’m going to ask for you to pray for her and her family.

First Day

Monday, August 21st, 2006

Well, I do have a little time to post today.  At church last night, AnnaBeth asked very nicely to go to Grandma’s house and spend the night and Noelle wanted to go as well, so they went there and I just went and picked them up.  With them gone this morning, we were able to get most of the schooling for today out of the way.

School

Sunday, August 20th, 2006

School starts here tomorrow.  It will just be partial schedule this week.  We will start full-time after Labor Day.  Please excuse me if I’m not able to post as often.

Amie is somewhat excited to start, but James is not.  He’d rather be outside riding his bike or running around.  Christine isn’t sure what to think yet.  She’ll just be starting Kindergarten this year.

Vet Appointment

Friday, August 18th, 2006

Took the cats for their well-kitten check and shots.  Tiger Lily is 3.75 lbs and Mittens is 4.05 lbs.  They did really well for the dr.  Tiger Lily just looked annoyed when she got her shot and Mittens let her displeasure be known loudly, but neither of them fought us.  One of my last cats didn’t like his shots at all and fought with all he had.  The vet for him had to get stitches in his thumb after I took him in the first time.  After that, the vet had an assistant come help us restrain him everytime I took him in.

Here is a Day-by-day commentary of our vacation. It is quite long.

when we went to Holiday World and James dictated his review to me? Well, the Holiday World blog linked to it. Cool, huh?

We’re back home

and very tired.  I’ll type out a post later to tell day-by-day what all went on.

Independence

Monday, August 7th, 2006

We went into historical Philly today.  Noelle got a fever which got worse and worse, so we didn’t stay down there too long.  I did get a picture of the kids in front of the Liberty Bell and we went to Franklin Court and the underground Ben Franklin Museum.  It was nice and cool down there.  My favorite part was seeing someone playing a hammered dulcimer.  The man was surprised that I knew what it was.  It was nice listening to the music.  I love that stuff.
