Noelle came downstairs this morning, saw the tree in the corner that I’d set up last night, and danced around it yelling, “Look, It’s Christmas!!”
What is she going to do once the lights and ornaments are on?
Small update: She’s hardly gone out of sight of the tree the whole day, except for lunch. She has looked at some of the ornaments, but we decorate the tree as a family, so we have to wait until Jeremy is off of work. Thankfully, today isn’t supposed to be a long day.
Anyone have a way to really get me out of this post-Thanksgiving funk? I miss my family and Ash. It was so wonderful to have them around. Even listening to Christmas music isn’t helping and I usually LOVE that.
Oh, and now that everyone else is okay, I’m getting sick. Sinus pressure and slight scratchy throat.
My brother and family… check
My sister and family… something for my nieces, I know what to get
Stocking stuffers for Christmas morning… still needing
Oh, and in case anyone is wondering, I found something for Noelle for her birthday, so that’s taken care of as well.
Now that Thanksgiving is over, we need to get back into the school routine. This is always so hard after such a fun weekend as we’ve had. Our routine was so off during the last 5 days. The kids were so cranky by Friday night. On Saturday, after my sister left in the early afternoon, I made all the kids lay down and take a nap. I think James was the only one who never really fell asleep, but he did lay down for a while. Yesterday, Ash left after lunch. Again, Jeremy and I made the kids have a nap. I don’t know how many of them actually slept because I had to go back to church for choir practice, but they seem much better this morning.
My family all left today. My parents left early this morning and my sister and nieces left just now. Ash is still here until tomorrow. Jeremy went to lunch with his brothers and so it is only her and me with my kids right now. I’m making them all take a nap. They need it so badly. We are going to rest some as well for now. When Jeremy gets back, we are leaving him with the kids and are going to a mall. That’s relaxing for a girl, right?
I hope you all are having a good day and enjoying the blessings that God has granted to you.
Hope your Thanksgiving isn’t “fowl”! (Thanks to Ash for the picture title.)
My family will be here soon. My mom, dad, sister, and nieces will be here any minute now. Jill’s husband has to work today, so he is coming up later tonight. I also have a friend coming tonight after she gets off of work in St. Louis. I’ll be so happy to have them all here. I’ve never been able to really host a family get-together before because we didn’t have the room.
Also, I’m so thankful to have such lovely weather for this holiday. Maybe somebody will take some of the kids up to the park tomorrow for a little while. I have a craft for the kids to do while waiting for Thanksgiving dinner, but it won’t take long, so a run to the park might be good for them too. (Plus, it would get them out of the house and into the fresh air and out from under the feet of the cooks.)
I’m having trouble. Noelle is my fifth child and my fourth girl. What do I get her for her birthday? I have gotten her books already, but I want one more thing. Nothing expensive. This is so hard.
I have the kids all doing something, but notice Amie isn’t in the room, so I call out for her. The answer:
“I’m in the bathroom and doing my math too!”
I’ve been enjoying learning how to modify pictures. Jeremy taught me a new thing with our Gimp image editor this week. This is one of the pictures I played with:
I wanted to isolate one color on Noelle and make the rest black and white. This was my first attempt at it and I’m pleased with the results.
I also posted another picture I did on my Vox site.
