Jeremy

Monday, November 20th, 2006

He went for another dr appointment today. He’s cleared for work, so that’s where he is now. He has another week of antibiotics and nebulizer treatments. I knew he was feeling better when he spent most of Saturday on the computer playing Guild Wars trying to catch up to my character. He was ahead before he got sick, but he wasn’t on the computer at all for about a week until Friday and I was able to get on for a few hours each night.

Sick Update

Thursday, November 16th, 2006

Jeremy is doing better.  He went to the dr today, but he hasn’t been cleared to go back to work yet.

Amie is all better.  She finally has her normal voice back.

I took Christine to the dr yesterday for a bad cough.  Our OTC cough medicine wasn’t working, so I took her in to make sure it wasn’t turning into bronchitis or anything else that would bother her asthma.  She has a prescription cough medicine and is doing okay.  She got a good night’s sleep last night which was good.  She hasn’t had one in a few days.

Everybody else is doing fine.  I’m very surprised that with the stress and having a lot of interrupted nights of sleep would make me sick, but my immune system is holding up very well under it all.

Friend

Wednesday, November 15th, 2006

I had a friend come over yesterday.  She helped fold some laundry and watched the kids while I ran out for a few groceries.  She helped Amie with science too.  It was so nice to have her here and I did better work while talking with her.

Pnuemonia

That’s what Jeremy has.  Anyone want to come let me have a couple hours of uninterrupted sleep?  He’s stuck either in bed or on the couch until Thursday.  It’s making his asthma act up bad too and he hasn’t had a problem with that at all since I’ve known him.  He’s on nebulizer treatments four times a day along with his medication.  He is able to help out a little with the kids’ schooling though.  He doesn’t like just sitting there with nothing to do.  James read to him yesterday and I think he’s going to work with Christine on her phonics today.

Oh, and today is his birthday.  Poor birthday boy.  I’m sure he could use some prayers from you all as birthday presents today.

More Potty Talk

Saturday, November 11th, 2006

Noelle refused to put a diaper on today.  I put her in underwear for the morning and was planning on changing her into a diaper before we left to go shopping.  Our church is doing Christmas shoeboxes and we went to the Dollar General in another town and met a friend to shop for stuff to put in them.  When I got a diaper out to put on her, she went running the other way, so I had her sit on her potty for a little bit.  She didn’t do anything and said she couldn’t, so I put the training potty in the van and took it with us.  She stayed dry all through shopping and then after we were done, she sat on the potty and wet in it.  She stayed dry until around 4:00pm.  That’s when I checked her and she was damp, though not soaking.  I changed her into a diaper after that because I was leaving with a friend for a girls’ night out and Jeremy was taking care of the kids.  He doesn’t think about asking her if she wants to sit on the potty with all the other things he has to think about while taking care of the kids.  This is only day #2 for her and he isn’t into the mindset of our baby being that old yet.  All in all, I’m proud of how well she’s been doing.

She did good!

Noelle wore the underwear until 3:15 when I had to get her ready for dance class.  She kept them dry that whole time.  I was very proud of her.  She wet in her potty just before I put the diaper back on her, so I’m sure that if I’d kept her in underwear for dance that she would have stayed dry, but I’m also glad I changed her.  She later had some (hmm, how can I put this nicely) runny #2.  She is all better from last week, but I think this is her body getting rid of the last of that sick stuff.

I think on the days that we’ll be home most of the time that I’ll put her in underwear until I know better how she will do in them.  I know that they are waiting for to arrive in the church nursery in underwear sometime soon.  Two of the people who work there have asked me how she was doing.

Testing, Testing…

Will the underwear stay dry on Noelle or not? Hmmm, time to find out.

update @ 1:30 pm: Still dry, used potty only once with my urging. When she wears a dress and goes without anything, she doesn’t need urging, so she knows when she needs to go.  I think she’s finally understanding the idea that she’s not supposed to get underwear wet. The last few tests didn’t even last two hours without getting wet.

Something I Learned

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Make sure Noelle has pants up before I answer a knock at the door.  She was sitting on her training potty on Monday when the Sheriff came knocking door to door as a last minute campaigning thing.  He greeted me nicely and introduced himself then glanced behind me and got a bit speechless and left.  I turned around and there was Noelle standing behind me… with her pants around her ankles.

I’m Sorry

I haven’t been writing upbeat posts lately. I hope to have a good post to write soon. This will not be one of them.

No Water In The Kitchen

There is a water leak in our kitchen faucet and I’ve had to turn off the water to it. I turned the hot water on just long enough to pre-rinse the dishes and fill up my sinks (one soapy water, one rinse water) to wash the dishes and it seemed to leak quite a bit in that little time, but I have to get those dishes done. Jeremy gets paid on Friday and we can’t do anything about it until then. I’ll be happy when It’s done because it’s hard without water to the kitchen. Any suggestions of anything else I could try so we don’t have a mess under the sink everytime I have to do dishes?
