Update on Amie

Monday, November 6th, 2006

She seems to be better, so we’re not making a trip to the dr. She didn’t wake any more after I posted last night to get another dose of pain relief and slept until about 7:00am when she quietly came downstairs and asked to have some medicine. James seems to be doing okay still too. A little fever, but that’s all. Noelle is definately feeling better. She’s much cheerier today. I’m feeling the same, but hope maybe if I get a nap today than I’ll be doing better.

edit: I spoke too soon. Her throat was really bothering her still when the meds wore off. I took a look and her tonsils look horribly big. Dr’s appt at 2:45.

edit2: Argh!  It’s strep.  Pray for the rest of the family to stay healthy.

Sick, Sick, Sick

Monday, November 6th, 2006

Jeremy’s been sick since Wed afternoon. AnnaBeth was sick on Wed too, but got better fairly quickly. Noelle was sick (as I mentioned in the previous post) and is doing better, but has been running a low grade fever off and on. She’s slept really well the last two nights which was good for her. Amie has been sick since Thursday. She has a sore throat and an earache as well as a fever. If she’s not better by tomorrow, I’ll be taking her to the dr. James started complaining of a sore throat this morning and by mid-afternoon started running a fever. He acted normal all day though and was angry not to be allowed to go to church today. I’m feeling like I’m coming down with something, you know, sneezing, stuffed sinuses, slight discomfort in my throat. Jeremy’s dad picked up the two children who are doing okay (AnnaBeth and Christine) and they got to go to church. His brother took them to evening services. Christine was excited to be able to go to TeamKid. She really loves it. Anyway, I’ll update tomorrow either after going to the dr or after I find out Amie’s doing better. I have a feeling that the dr’s office is going to be seeing us. Amie’s woken up and cried about either her throat or ear at least three times already tonight. I am sure that soon she’ll be needing me to get her another dose of tylenol to get her through the rest of the night.

Anyone Have Some Extra Sleep I Could Have?

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

I am so extremely tired. As one friend who’s met me on IM late at night knows, I’ve not been sleeping well for a while. I either have trouble getting to sleep or I wake up around 3 and can’t get back to sleep. I usually have one day a week (usually Saturday or Sunday) when I’ll completely crash and take a good, long nap. I haven’t crashed in about 3 weeks though and it’s been showing up on my stress levels. Today though, I have a good reason for needing that nap. I’m not sure when I actually went to bed, but it wasn’t too late. Usually reading helps me to relax, but last night it just wasn’t working. I know it was after midnight when I finally got to sleep. I was woken up a few times after that. Jeremy was running a small fever and tossed and turned and Noelle woke up twice crying. One of those times Amie let her come cuddle in bed with her. The third time, she didn’t stop crying. I went up and got her and we cuddled on the couch. She was extremely upset. I changed her diaper and got her a drink which really helped her to settle down. She was so tired, but kept talking and talking. Finally, I got her to lay down and we both drifted off. She woke up a few times, but slept most of the time. I didn’t sleep well with her beside me and one cat would come and cuddle for a little while and then switch off and let the other one cuddle. Tiger Lily decided my toes were fun toys under the blanket at one time. The kids woke me up around 8 am to get them breakfast and Amie needed medicine for an ear ache. Now I’m feeling extremely out of it.

Transformation

Thursday, November 2nd, 2006

My backyard turned from a light brown (dead grass) to a bright yellow (fallen maple leaves) overnight.  It looked really pretty this morning.
