I believe I mentioned in an earlier post that we were going up to Wisconsin Dells for our Spring Break Vacation. We’ll be up there from Monday thru Thursday. On Friday, we’ll be checking out Brookfield Zoo for the first time. We look forward to seeing it. It’s been a while since we’ve all been to a zoo together. Two years ago, I took Christine to the little Lincoln Park Zoo and the kids and I had been to the zoo with my sister about once a year before that, but I don’t remember the last time Jeremy went with us. Anyway, I am excited. I just love the zoo and look forward to going more often now that we’re getting more settled around here.

Spring Break Vacation Plans
Thursday, April 16th, 2009Hello, Hello… from Your Friendly Internet Pixiemom
Wednesday, April 15th, 2009Yes, I’m in a wonderful weird mood. I’m just going to update you all on a few things, I guess and tell about today’s homeschool program.
First, and most important, Aaron. He’s feeling better and I think he’s gone back to work. Continue to pray with me for him and Melody and their daughters.
Easter! I love this holiday. I always feel so in awe of what Jesus did for us on the cross… all because He loves us. Having this time of year to actually focus specifically on that is great. It reminds us of His sacrifice for us. THEN, the hope of eternal life is shown to us threw His resurrection. I get such excitement running through me at the thought of it. Living, walking, and talking with Paul, Peter, Daniel, Esther, Ruth, Joshua… and so on, even Jesus Himself. It is just humbling to realize that it’s for me and also for anyone else who wants it.
As for our Easter cantata, *sigh* I don’t want to talk about it. I had a voice for my solo, but… well, it just didn’t go as we had hoped.
Today’s Homeschool group meeting was Earth Day themed. We had Ricky Recycle come down and talk to the kids. He was noisy and crazy and he went longer than expected, but my kids remembered most of what he talked about, so I guess it was a success. They enjoyed his silly performance and learned from it as well. Afterwards, they planted seeds in cardboard egg cartons and reused the cardboard rolls from paper towels and toilet paper by cutting them into inch wide tubes and decorating them to use as napkin rings. Christine found this art project in a magazine and wanted to do it, we decided today was a good day to do it as we’d be showing how to reuse something.
Well, it’s time for me to go to church for our Worship Team meeting. Wednesdays are so busy, but I don’t mind.
Happy Easter! (Well, ok, I’m a day early)
Saturday, April 11th, 2009Tomorrow we are going to have our Easter cantata. We need to get to our church early for breakfast and prayer time, then to get ready for our performance. Jeremy is playing Jesus. Amie and I are in the choir and we are wearing costumes as well. I have a solo. This solo is harder for me than most. It is low in my range and near the end of the cantata. My lower range is the first to have trouble when I’m singing and my voice is tired. As I was sick about 3 weeks ago and didn’t give my voice a rest, it has been weak and this last Wednesday, during our practice, my voice went out completely. I just overdid it. I went Thursday without singing and hardly any talking. On Friday, still no singing, but I could talk. I still kept it kind of quiet though. Today, I’ve tried singing and my voice is doing so much better, but I’m not using it much to save it. I’m opting out of leading Praise and Worship tomorrow, but as the songs are ones everyone knows well, I don’t think it’ll be a problem.
Oh, on the subject of leading P&W… I’m really starting to get used to it and enjoying it more. I was really nervous the first few weeks when I started (back in January.) I really enjoy my job.
Update #2 on Aaron
Tuesday, April 7th, 2009This is straight from Melody:
Aaron’s surgery went well today. He had scar tissue blocking his urinary tract, and they think this may have cause a lot of the problems. They put a stint in, and he has to return in three weeks to have it removed. He is now sleeping, and my mom and I are exhausted. Wish the kids were! Thank you for all the prayers.
Palm Sunday
Monday, April 6th, 2009I wish I could have taken pictures. It was so cute. I had the children’s choir performing yesterday. To start off, I gave them little palm branches (real ones) and they came down the aisle saying, “Hosanna, hosanna in the highest. The King is coming.” Once up front, they did a song, “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna” and between the verses, it had the kids singing hosanna, hosanna and they were waving the palm branches. The choir behind them got into it and were waving their hands too. They were a bit intimidated at first and sang a bit quietly, but I got them to sing loud enough after a little bit. They did such a good job. I really wish I had a video camera for Jeremy or someone to capture these times.
Update on Aaron
Thursday, April 2nd, 2009Melody is keeping us updated. She said that the dr told Aaron that they didn’t see anything from the CT scans, so he’s going to have exploratory surgery next Tuesday morning. I just ask that you will be praying with me then, I think it’s at 8 am.
