I have a HisStory bracelet and either she or Noelle have asked me to tell the story of it many times in the last few days. Today she picked it up and almost told the whole story herself. I changed the story they had just a little bit, so it isn’t the exact same as on the card that comes with the bracelet, but it is still Biblically correct and works with the beads.
She is a thin kid and must have a high metabolism because sometimes it is hard keeping her weight up even though she eats enough (three meals and two snacks a day). Today, she came to me and pointed to her belly and said, “Look Mommy, I’m getting some fat!” I tickled her belly and said, “Fat? I didn’t know you could ever have some of that.” She laughed and went off skipping and saying, “I’ve got no fat. I’ve got no fat.”

I can sympathize with you on the weight issue. It has always been a struggle trying to keep Jenna’s weight up where it is supposed to be too. Her clothes are now a size 6 in the length, but she wears a 3 or 4 around the waist. Talk about being difficult to shop for! I’m just glad summer is almost here, and I can just put her in shorts or capris that fit around the waist without having to worry about the length.
She is always asking me if she is getting fatter. She wants to so bad just so she can wear normal clothes (right now the slims are even too wide for her). I keep telling her that some day she will not think it’s such a bad thing to be so thin. She doesn’t see my point. She told me she wants to be “soft like Mommy” when she grows up. (Mommy would like to be a little less “soft”.) Guess it’s just proof that no matter what size we are, it’s just human nature to want what we don’t have.

sometimes children see it like it really is, as adults we look at our appearance and think its bad, but children see the silver lining.
Maybe mommy would like to be a little less soft, but really is it that bad? Soft means more hugs, more cuddles, silver lining.
just a thought,

Those bracelets look like a great idea, I think I’ll get one for my kids and my niece and nephew and some friend’s kids for Christmas!! Thanks for sharing!
