Goodbye Grandma Martin
My mom just called. My Grandma Martin has gone home to be with the Lord. My mom said that the family has been singing almost through the whole hymnal everyday. Around 4:00, they started “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and Uncle Johnny said he was watching her and her last breath was taken when they sang the words, “Lead me home”.
Wow! What an amazing way to go to Heaven, to be ushered in with that song and all the love of her children and husband and other family around her.
I’m sure the family will appreciate any prayers.
I will have to wait to tell about her. I can’t do it right now.

Wow, between Grandma Anna and Grandma Martin, something really touches me. The simple way belivers unite in songs and prayers for the loved one not to far off from going home amazes me. Words could not express when I read jwall’s twitter stating his family and himself were all gathered around Grandma Anna’s hospital bed singing old hyms. I sat in front of my computer in awe as my eyes became moist with happiness. It is blessed to have a strong believing family that serves. Also, it caused me to think about legacy and witnessing.
Let’s take time today to think deep on how thankful you are for a serving, believing family…
The memorial service for my mom is Sunday (tomorrow) at 2:00PM at the church. It has been a good week here with my family even though it has been sad some of the time. Three of my sisters and I sang a lot together. Tomorrow will be hard but we have a large family which will be together. Thank you all for your prayers during this time. Mom was very peaceful and finally without pain.
