The spots faded and other things took their place. First, our laundry machines have decided to act up. The dryer won’t shut off if and keeps running until we go down there and open the door and the washer’s tub gets crooked sometimes and it doesn’t catch all the water. The other day, it flooded the unfinished part of the basement. Thankfully, it drained easily and didn’t damage anything. Jeremy has kind of fixed that problem, but we’ll still need new laundry machines sometime soon. Anyone care to donate? Just kidding… kind of. Next, James has been sick with a sore throat and sinus headaches for a few days. Then, THIS happened to AnnaBeth. She doesn’t know when she was bitten, but I’m guessing from where it is that it was on Monday while the kids had on their swimsuits and I was spraying them with the hose. Afterwards, they ran around the yard while they were drying. It was on Monday night that she said something about that area feeling uncomfortable and she showed it to me. I just saw an insect bite. It didn’t seem to bad at the time. On Wednesday it was bad and I called some different dr’s offices to try and get an appointment, but kept getting the, “I’m sorry, We’re not taking any new patients. Just give her Benedryl and don’t worry too much about it.” I started giving her the antihistamine that night and on Thursday it seemed to be doing better. Unfortunately, on Friday, she was bit over her right eye and I’m guessing that with that one as well that the meds just weren’t working well enough anymore. The first one got much worse, so when Jeremy got home and we’d had some dinner, I took her over to the urgent care center. After 3 hours of mostly waiting, (and a nice tech guy giving her some apple juice and crackers) we got the news that she’s allergic to whatever insect bit her and got a prescription for steroids. So, today, I am now a very tired mom and I still have a sick son to take care of and a ton of laundry to do. I also need to research epipens (since it’s best to be prepared) and allergy alert necklaces and such.

Well, my dear, you have been BUSY. Lord willing, you find a washer/dryer soon. Don’t forget to check Craig’s List and to see if Freecycle has anything available. I’ve seen a few w/d for free here in Austin.
Did you ever find out what those bumps on the kids’ back were? Could be spider bites?
I hope things calm down but in the meantime: “…the battle is the Lord’s…” Amen? He will use this to bless you somehow.
